Due to the extreme cold temperatures across the central United States, the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) has declared a maximum generation event for the entire territory. Great River Energy (GRE), Lake Region Electric Cooperative’s (LREC) wholesale power provider, is taking the appropriate steps to ensure they are using all available resources to generate power. To help ensure the grid remains stable during these high demand periods, LREC, GRE, and MISO ask that you conserve energy by turning off non-essential electrical loads from 6:00pm–11:00pm tonight, 12/23/22.
