We’re hiring an Electrical Technician!
Our full-time Electrical Technician opportunity, based out of the LREC Pelican Rapids office, is responsible for installation, testing, and maintenance of voltage regulators. Daily monitoring of system voltages. Meter testing and inspections. Perform inspections and installations of load management systems. Inspect, install, and maintain substation equipment and SCADA system.
Qualifications for the position include:
- Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to 5 years in the electrical field.
- Requires a Class A journeyman electrical license in State of Minnesota, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance to travel independently, with work vehicle, within the service territory.
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code.
- Advanced technology and computer software skills.
- Ability to learn and understand electric utility terminology and apply knowledge of electrical technology to the job functions in a skillful and timely manner
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Strong communication and organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with attention to detail.
- Capacity to work standard work hours, Monday – Friday 7:30AM – 4:00PM, and overtime as needed. Assistance will be expected during major outages.
This union position’s targeted pay rate for 2024 is $49.71, to be achieved upon completion of a training progression period with a starting wage based on previous experience.
