Dan Husted Named LREC Interim CEO
Lake Region Electric Cooperative’s Board of Directors has named Dan Husted to serve as interim CEO until a permanent replacement for outgoing CEO Tim Thompson can be determined.
A former LREC employee with experience in energy services, communications, and customer service, Husted will begin his duties prior to Thompson’s departure at the end of February. Husted retired from the co-op in 2021 following 18 years of service and a tenure as Vice President of Business Development.
In addition, LREC’s Board of Directors has also begun working with Debra Englund of MN-based human resources and consulting firm HRExpertiseBP to assist with the recruitment process and screening of qualified CEO candidates. HRExpertiseBP has an extensive history of leadership team building and talent acquisition for electric cooperatives nationwide, including Kandiyohi Power and Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, among others.
LREC and the Board congratulate Mr. Husted on this decision and look forward to his contributions during this transition.
